CAP 2020
What CAP is…
The Creative Arts Programme is a sub-committee of Brooklyn Public School's P&C. The CAP Committee are dedicated to providing creative arts opportunities for BPS students.
The Creative Arts Program is run by parent volunteers who coordinate courses, manage finances & liaise with tutors. CAP is (mostly) open to students from Years 1 – 6, though younger students are welcome to inquire about specific programs.
The CAP Committee meet each term and you are most welcome to join us at a meeting if you would like to be involved - see newsletter for meeting dates. If you have any ideas for CAP courses, tutors etc please contact any of the CAP committee members.

CAP is proud to announce the music program for 2020!
School Band program – by Rose Foster Music
The school bands perform at each end of term assembly as well as various community events such as Brooklyn Spring Fair and Berowra Music Festival. We also hold an annual band workshop on Dangar Island culminating in a performance for parents and the community.
Performance Band- For existing music students who have previously participated in either the performance or beginner band program.
Beginner Band- For all new music students
Senior Jazz Band- By invitation and audition
Private Tutoring
Learn to read music and improve sight reading skills. Exam support available to eligible students.

Group Classes
Percussion Group
Get into the groove - improve your rhythm skills. In this class we will tune our brains and bodies in to musical rhythms, by playing rhythm-based games, creating rhythmic soundscapes and participating in a rhythm orchestra. Come along just for fun, or to prepare for your future as a world-famous drummer. No experience necessary, just a willingness to participate fully. Day and cost to be advised. 4 strings or 6 strings
Sign up for guitar or ukulele lunchtime class. Complete beginners and intermediate students welcome. We will learn chords so we can accompany ourselves singing (be prepared to sing!)
